Through a visionary reflection upon the contamination between fashion, technology, and environment, New Era gives voice to a new generational understanding of concepts and trends of the future, within an international landscape. One of the biggest highlights of this project was the introduction of Natalia Esteve Garcia Ancira and her collection Sois Sage Ô Ma Douleur (Be Wise Oh My Pain).

She was born and raised in Mexico City. Nowadays, she lives in London where she dedicates her work to the exploration of our deepest selves, the essence. Working with self-portraiture has allowed her to create a tangible voice for all those intangible feelings that live within us all.

“My work speaks for itself now and has a life of its own; its own world, its own voice, and hopefully, its own language, one that many of us silently speak”

This collection is a reflection of herself, a portrait that tells the story of identity through addiction or concealment of the self. Natalia Esteve used her work as a ground for self-analysis and exploration where one big question arose: How can I see you if I cannot see myself?

The answer was translated with pieces that explore identity, constant creation and concealment. From the seduction of the false self and how we enable it to take over with the help of socially accepted pacifiers like alcohol, drugs, sex, food, and people, to the encounters with ourselves through the realization that we are so much more than we told ourselves; the real you behind the facade.
