Dior Beachwear? OUI, OUI!
What’s the word for beach in French?
It was in 2019 that Dior started a work (and love) relationship with Parley for the Oceans. Aware of the terrible effects of the fashion industry on planet earth, the maison teamed up once again with the NY-based environmental organization to develop a beachwear capsule collection. And excuse our French, but it’s f*****g fab.
Designed by Dior Men’s Artistic Director, Kim Jones, the collection introduces a selection of environmentally conscious pieces. From shirts to bags and even sunglasses made of Parley Ocean Plastic®, the new beachwear capsule collection reflects Dior desire to move towards a more eco-innovative and sustainable future for fashion. But where does inspiration for this project come from? It all begins with founder’s Christian Dior passion for the sea: something that started during his childhood along the English Channel.
By bringing together Dior’s artisans’ expertise and Parley’s up-cycled materials alternatives, the collection marries desirability with sustainability – transforming plastic waste into eco-innovation, where former ocean threats become wearable symbols of change.
The collection is now available on dior.com and selected stores worldwide.
