Mama Shelter
Mama Shelter is a boutique hotel with a unique concept and impeccable design by its owner, the famous interior designer Phillipe Starck, who is the mind behind the Royalton Hotel in New York, the Mondrian in Los Angeles, the Sanderson in London, the Fasano in Rio de Janeiro, and the remodeling of the emblematic Clift of San Francisco, as well as being the designer of Steve Jobs’ yacht, Venus, in 2012. This is how Mama Shelter’s hotels have become a showcase for showing Starck’s creativity and immense talent.
The first hotel opened in Paris, and until today Mama Shelter has three other locations in France: Bordeaux, Marseille, and Lyon. Now, they have decided to expand to other countries, starting operations in Istanbul, at the active shopping district of Beyoğlu.
The choice of Istanbul as its fifth location is influenced by being a city that brings together countless cultures, generations, and energies. Following the hip concept that has made them a name, Mama Shelter Istanbul has an ideal balance of sophistication and exuberance, perfect for those who travel and look for a cozy space, visually stimulating areas and a young and relaxed vibe.
While these characteristics are a magnet for visitors, something important is the reasonable prices that allow a larger market to enjoy this experience.
The next step in Starck’s plan for worldwide expansion includes Los Angeles, a city that with its effortlessly cool vibe, is an obvious option to continue the success of the project.
