Le Derrière

Paris is a city where the plans for the weekend regularly consist of a small get-together with close friends, almost always the meeting point is at someone’s house and so between drinks and conversation the evening goes by. What would happen if we moved this scenario to one of the hotspots of the City of Light? The result would be Le Derrière.

This is one of the most fun places to spend time with friends either enjoying a dinner, brunch or just a couple of drinks. The idea is to be home away from home: Le Derrière is an apartment house decorated in the classic way of the mansions of Le Marais in Paris.

Le Derrière is a vision of Momo group, owners of the acclaimed Sketch in London. Mourad Mazouz, director and creator of Momo group, seeks to create the best concepts centered in a good kitchen and bar. Momo, as Mourad is better known, has published special African cuisine books like The Momo Cook Book and also has his own record label which aims to mix rhythms without borders. His album Aberesque is brutal.

The service and atmosphere are great; the best part and an insider tip is to go upstairs to the bathroom, there is a closet and you must look through the books. If you’re lucky a secret door will open leading to a spectacular room that makes us remember an Ivy Club on the West Coast, foosball table included.

We recommend the tuna and the special cocktails; the food is traditional French but of the highest quality. The wine list is extensive and if you have any questions, the sommelier is always happy to help.
