Para Grace Coddington la moda se divide en dos categorías: o se trata de algo sumamente llamativo que la gente desea vestir inmediatamente o bien es algo que resulta poco práctico en términos de vestimenta pero hace que la industria (en función de patronaje y procesos creativos) evolucione. En la más reciente edición de London Collections: Men, Agi Mdumullar y Sam Cotton lograron justamente posicionarse en el punto medio de ambas categorías coddingtianas.
Las que a simple vista podrían resultar simples, en realidad son complejas piezas en las que se superponen bolsillos delimitados por cierres y botones. Los compartimentos hasta ahora reservados para bolsos y mochilas aparecen incorporados en chaquetas, gabardinas y chalecos de amplio corte y en en tonos propios de la temporada – siendo esta característica lo único convencional de la colección.
A la par de presentar una línea tan propositiva como wearable, el dúo también mostró en la pasarela sus primeros diseños “femeninos”. Aunque, éstos, al mirarlos bien, podrían ser usados por hombres, y viceversa. ¿Es esto una contribución a disolver la barrera que separa ambos géneros? Podría ser, pero sin importar cuál sea la respuesta a tal interrogante, lo único certero es que una vez más Agi & Sam nos han dejado queriendo más.

It is safe to say that during the past edition of London Collections: Men creative duo Agi Mdumullar and Sam Cotton fell right between both coddingtonian categories.
What might appear as simple to the naked eye is in fact a complex wardrobe of pieces (jackets, coats and even vests) in which pockets overlap in what can be defined as a “wearable backpack”. The only conventional thing about this collection is color: fall-like tones are present in every single piece of clothing.
The England-based duo also sent down the runway their first womenswear looks, but truth be told, men might as well wear them and look just as good…and viceversa. Is this a contribution to the dissolution of the barrier that separates both genders? Maybe. Whatever the answer is, there’s one thing that’s only known for sure: once again, Agi & Sam have left us wanting more.
