Original Penguin found inspiration in the Coachella Music Festival and the lifestyle around the Californian desert for their spring collection

The Coachella Music Festival is just around corner and it is no coincidence that many brands are inspired by this famous festival and the lifestyle around the Californian desert for their spring collections. One is this is the Original Penguin Spring 2016 collection.

The American brand, born in Minneapolis in 1955, will have 3 deliveries during the season and all of them are inspired in some way by the city of Palm Springs, famous for its retro aesthetics and for seeing the birth of the world famous music festival that is held every year a few kilometers away. The first delivery has its origin in the refined leisure of a tennis club in the 70’s. We can see some athletic elements, mix of prints and many pastel colors. Preppy look reinvented.

For its second delivery, Original Penguin took as a reference the desert gardens, where we can find colorful flowers and sand blushed cacti. The inspiration is reflected in the pieces through an infusion of stripes, polka dots and a fun mix of textures. This is the ideal look to relax below the shades of the palm trees.

Finally, the third delivery is an ode to a road trip through the Californian plains. Neutral, earthy and sun faded tones make their appearance in pieces like shorts and light polo shirts. Touches of blue and rusty orange create depth in the silhouettes of our favorite delivery from the Original Penguin Spring 2016 collection.
